Omnyx Share Their Insight on Agile Software Development for Medical Devices

Pharma IQ has just released a new interview with Michael Meissner, VP Software R&D and Program Manager, Omnyx LLC (a GE and UPMC joint venture) on agile software development and positive downstream effects it has despite the design controls and documentation processes in involves.

In this exclusive podcast Michael Meissner joins Pharma IQ to shares his knowledge on using agile software methodologies to ensure successful regulatory audits. Mr Meissner provides his ideas on agile toolkits like scrum - an iterative and incremental agile software development method for managing projects and product development - and how to visually map out the development process based on the findings.

Michael also explains how to find a middle ground between patient risks and safety concerns as well as more high-value commercial features, examining in more detail the proactive planning Omnyx does in order to produce artefacts prior to audits.

The interview was created as a part of the pre-conference research for Agile Software Development for Healthcare Summit, taking place from the 15th - 17th October 2012 in Berlin, Germany.

The interview helped to shape the summit agenda which features among others - Lucien Jaegers, Project Leader at Phillips explaining how to successfully fit agile methodologies into the larger project to ensure a robust software development process and Tim McGregor, Software Team Leader from Elekta, who will lead a session on Ensuring Fair Traceability and Coverage Throughout an Agile Project.
